Are Dell computers upgradeable (video card mainly, but also RAM and such)?

I mean I don't know too much about computers and I assumes you could upgrade them but I read on a forum that you can't for some reason. If it helps I have a Dimension 5150 that I bought in December.

You can add RAM, change video cards and add additional cards without much incident.

Dell, however, does not use standard motherboards or power supplies; if you want to change those, you have to buy Dell parts as replacements, because standard mobos and ATX power supplies just won't fit in the case.

the power suplies are propietary to the motherboards as well, so once you comitte to a Dell you are stuck with what ever limited upgrade options you have, you can upgrade some of the options, but the video card, it depends if it's pci-e , agp, and if you are going to get crossfire or sli up and running, if that's the case your more than likely go the crossfire / sli route with most dells due to the propietary designs. Dell are good for avg joe consumer, but for gamers ( especially the hardcore ones ) they avoid them like the plague ( unless it's the quad gpu sli xp-s ).
Some models ''yes'' some models ''no''. Usually the less expensive models have a built in video chip-set %26 there may be no room for an expansion card (for a video upgrade).
