Can A wifi internet connections support a computer shop with 6 computers?

Hi I just want to know if establishing a computer shop with 6 computers can be supported with a wifi internet connection with the speed of 392kbps/sec for gaming and a little bit surfing with the aid of a Fast LAN CARD on every PC.thanks

Yes. However, i am confused as to, if you are setting up a wifi network would you need LAN cards.



What you'll need first of all, is a high end broadband connection, like a business level DSL package where you can get up to 6 Mbps downstream. I recommend DSL over Cable simply because the downstream speed for Cable can flucuate depending on the time of day. Based on your requirement, this is the most important factor.



Next is the actual DSL Modem, some modem have max capacity limits. You'll need to do some research as to which modems are going to be compatible with the DSL ISP.



For the router and wireless network connectors, I recommend you go with ones that have the ''G'' or ''Super-G'' specs. This will give you the reatest range and the highest speeds. Also you have to be sure that the router can handle the 6 computers.



You may just want to use cable instead of wireless. Most computers already come with a NIC. So instead of purchasing new wireless NIC all you have to do is buy some CAT 6 cable.
