I was thinking of getting one of those emachine computers from wal-mart..... are they any good and how reliable are they??? They also had compaq and some funny name I have never heard of before.... something like Everex???? Does anyone know anything about these brands???? THANKS!!

we had a emachine for 6 yrs , we gave it still working to a friend when we got this new one. they seem very good for the price. juts be sure to read the details and see it meets your needs. is the ram expandable or is it maxed already example 512 installed up to 4 gig possible , is the video card in it capable of doing what you need, if your a gamer does it have a slot open to change cards later. upgrade ability is important. but my experience is that they are reliable and well made.

if you play alot of games NONE of the 2 are vary good.
E-Machines put lasted the compaq and was more stable.
I have had several E-Machines bought at Circuit City and BEst Buy..there OK for entry level machines...Buy the extended warranty to cover break downs
I have personally repaired 3 Emachine desktops and know of a local computer service center that has also repaired over a dozen eMachines in the past six months. The motherboard and power supply both failed at the same time.
