Installing operating system on two computers?

If I install windows XP operating system (or Vista) on two computers using the same CD, will it screw up any of the computers in any way?

Installing operating system on two computers?product key

I do not know about Vista, but i do know for sure that each XP cd-key is entitled to installation on 2 computers at the same time. Both will be activated at the same time without hassle. Also note that this IS legal as long as YOU own the two computers. You may not legally use the second activation for somebody elses computer.

Yes, you can install your copy of windows to more than one computers. If you only have one original license key, you can only register and get support from Microsoft for the first computer you've registered. And remember, it's illegal to use one original license key in more than one computer.

I suggest you to get license free operating system from other source.

Wish my answer will help......................

j4v4
no but its not legal
One operating system per computer (even if you activate it you will not be able to update)
Yep....and its illegal.....u need to pay more to take more.

But...if its only 4 ur personal use.....no problem
From the same CD? The problem with that scenario is I think Vista comes on a DVD and XP on a CD and that mulch space on a disk would be kinda of amazing, but anyway....
