We'd like to network all our computers. Only 1 of them runs WindowsXP; the others run 98SE. Is it possible to network with pci 10/100 Ethernet cards with these computers?
Is it possible to network computers with different OS's?pop up blocker
yes it is, make sure you get a network hub (or router if they are going to connect to the internet) hook them up and setup network on each computer (network without domain or network with residential gateway (if you have a router))and make them all apart of the same workgroup. once they are setup, restart each computer, they should all see each other a couple minutes after booting back up into windows.
Is it possible to network computers with different OS's?systemworks
Yes but i think you have to use the win98 networking if you are doing p2p. but you can designate one of you 98 machines with Linux an setup a client server network that is what i run. example i have Redhat Linux server with 3 98 clients 2 xp clients and several 95 clients
